Giles Dickson is the Chief Executive Officer of WindEurope (formerly EWEA) a position he has held since 2015. WindEurope is representing more than 450 companies, being the voice of the European wind industry.

Giles Dickson is the Chief Executive Officer of WindEurope (formerly EWEA) a position he has held since 2015. WindEurope is representing more than 450 companies, being the voice of the European wind industry. It represents the entire value chain of wind power: turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities, project developers, financial institutions and research institutes. 

As the industry association WindEurope actively promotes wind power in Europe. It engages Governments on policy and regulation that affect wind power and its integration in the energy system. It coordinates research and development for the wind industry in Europe and manages the European Technology Innovation Platform for wind on behalf of the EU Commission.

Giles Dickson is also chairman of the independent advisory council of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E). Previously, he worked for the French engineering company Alstom where he was vice-president for global public affairs from 2008 to 2015. Prior to that, he was a civil servant in the U.K. government from 1992 to 2008, working mostly on European affairs. 

Dickson holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brasenose College in Oxford.
