Diana - Alexandra Codău

Ms. Diana – Alexandra Codău is a highly experienced expert in the field of foreign trade and European affairs as a result of her twenty years of activity in the Department of Foreign Trade but also as a result of her quality as diplomat in the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union. She graduated The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Economic Studies in foreign languages ​​(French language module) and followed her postgraduate studies at the University of Orleans, France. 

Since august 2021 she holds the position of Director for European Affairs and International Relations within the Ministry of energy. Previously she was the General Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Trade within the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, thus coordinating the activities Romania’s bilateral trade and economic relations with the partner countries, including by ensuring the coordination at technical level of the institutional dialogue with partner countries and the initiation and development of bilateral economic cooperation mechanisms.

In 2017, Ms. Diana Alexandra Codău held the position of director of Trade Policy and European Affairs Directorate, later she held the position of Director General of the General Directorate for Foreign Trade. In her capacity as director of the Trade Policy and European Affairs Directorate, she coordinated the activity of the team responsible for the preparation and exercise of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (PRES RO 2019) in the field of trade policy.

Ms. Diana Alexandra Codău was awarded the decoration The Order The Industrial and Commercial Merit, by his His Excellency,  Mr. Klaus Werner IOHANNIS, President of Romania.
